Introduction
Few know that Hungary has over 1000 years of winemaking tradition. We have 22 wine regions that not only have excellent quality wine, but also some wonderful countryside and sightseeing. Hungarian wines have quickly recaptured international attention for their extraordinary quality across several varieties of both red and white wines.
Because the average temperature in Hungary is much higher than many of its European counterparts, we have an ideal climate for growing a variety of grapes that allow us to produce a full a range of wines from whites to reds to sweet desert wines.
The Villány region stands out both for its geographic location and for the quality of their wines. The secret of the Villány region's excellent wines is as much in the environmental conditions as in the know-how of their producers. Our hosts, the Bock Winery's owners have been making wine for nine generations. And we'll pair those remarkable wine tastings with culinary delicacies prepared by a celebrated chef of the region.
